Benefits of Yoga for Women & Workshops Dates
Women have special gifts and unique psychological attributes. As a rule, women are more connected than men to the experience of Being and to their emotions. Women face special challenges as well. The hormonal shifts in a woman's body create special physical and emotional states. As well, women are more often called upon to play many roles, and the demands on our time and energy can be extensive. Many women suffer from being overstressed and over worked. Balancing a modern lifestyle with self-care can be difficult, and most of the time it is our self-care that is neglected.
A women's mind has the natural, inborn capacityto heal itself of all these types of imbalances. When a woman learns Yoga and meditation, she learns to manage her own stress by identifying troublesome thinking patterns and strengthening her nervous system to help deal with the pressures she is faced with. She learns how to not be depleted, but instead replenish her energy and repair herself on every level.
Journey of the Yogini workshops help women learn the practical tools needed to empower, heal and transform through asana, meditation, discussion, and journaling. And it's all done in a safe, supportive community of women!
In the Buddhist tradition, this community is known as a sangha, and is one the most important aspects of their overall spiritual practice, and it is believed that without sangha, or commnuity, they can not achieve ulitmate Realization. Throughout history, women have gathered for the sake of witnessing, listening, mentoring, laughing, crying, sharing, singing, dancing, hugging, and discovering. These connections feed a woman’s soul, reminding her of her deepest yearnings and priorities. They remind her of just how hungry she is for quietude, rest, affirmation, and the nourishing support of other women.
In order for us to achieve whatever it is that we want, we must have a system of support in place, and what is often forgotten is that what has happened to you, has most likely happened to many others. We are not as origianl as we like to think we are. Therefore, these workshops foster community among women by allowing to us experience, learn, and grow together, rather than apart.
Workshops:
The Journey of the Yogini Workshops are designed to follow our Chakras, from base to top. Chakras are energetic centers believed to be in our astral bodies and the seven chakras form a complete sytem which connect our body, mind, and spirit.
There are three workshops, and to recieve the full benefits, experience, and understanding, it is recommended that you take them in the proper sequence, which is , Empower, Heal, and finally Transform.
The purpose of these workshops is to create community, support renewal, and celebrate the Yogini in every woman.
Each workshop focuses on different areas of the body, how it affects us in terms of our chakras (energy), its effects on the body and spirit, and our relationship to that area as women. These workshops are designed to suit beginner or intermediate Yogini’s interested in personal growth and learning more about Yoga and wellness, as well those who are interested in deepening their practice
All workshops include time for discussion, asana, meditation, and journaling.
